16-HOUR ARMED GUARD TRAINING
This 16-hour armed security guard course is a two-day (8 hours a day) comprehensive training course mandated by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for individuals seeking to become armed security guards in the State of Arizona. This course covers firearms safety, marksmanship, legal authorities pertaining to the use of force and deadly force as outlined in the Arizona Revised Statutes in the security context. This course also includes written and practical exams which culminate with a live-fire range qualification, a requirement to obtain an armed guard card.

8-HOUR REFRESHER ARMED GUARD TRAINING
This 8-hour training course is an annual refresher course required for licensed Arizona Armed Guards to maintain their certification. This course covers firearms safety, marksmanship, legal issues surrounding deadly force, and proper weapons handling, culminating in a live-fire qualification as required by the State of Arizona to maintain an armed security guard card.

ARMED GUARD FIREARM QUALIFICATION
ARMED GUARD FIREARM QUALIFICATION
The applicant will complete the required (40)-round firearm qualification course as outlined by the State of Arizona statute and Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (AZ POST) Board to satisfy the required annual Arizona Armed Guard firearm qualification.
AZ POST Firearm Qualification (effective as of January 1, 2024)
1. The qualification is a 40-round course
of fire.
2. The qualification is shot on a TQ-21 or
TQ-19 target, 5 points per round.
3. Minimum passing score is 170 (84%) out of
a maximum score of 200.
